Disc Herniations Injuries

Disc Herniations

Discs are the soft, gelatinous cushions that surround the spinal cord and act as shock absorbers between the hard, bony vertebrae. A herniated disc is a protrusion of the disc material, usually through small openings in the vertebrae where nerves enter the spinal column. Discs herniate most commonly in the lower back, although they can occur in the lower neck. A disc may herniate because of sudden trauma such as a fall, or by the long-term effects of too much bending and twisting.

Low Back Pain/Sciatica Treatment
sciatica

Low back pain can be a very debilitating condition that we have successfully treated through Chiropractic, spinal decompression, physiotherapy, laser therapy and massage.

The kneeis the most commonly injured joint in the body. Knee pain is caused by a variety of injuries most of which are from physical activity or lack thereof. Knee conditions that we treat are osteoarthritis, ACL tears, patellar-femoral syndrome, knee sprains, patellar fasciitis and more. We have been very successful with knee treatments including from physiotherapy, acupuncture, bracing, laser therapy, soft tissue therapies and more.

Osteoarthritis
osteoarthritis

This chronic condition is characterized by the breakdown of the joint's cartilage. The breakdown of cartilage causes bones to rub against each other resulting in stiffness, pain and loss of joint movement. Osteoarthritis most commonly occurs in the weight-bearing joints of the hips, knees and lower back.

Post Surgical
Post Surgical

Following surgical procedures to repair torn ligaments or even knee or hip replacements, laser therapy accelerates the healing process. Low intensity laser therapy combined with a physical therapy treatment plan will have you back to your activities of daily living faster.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a chronic disease mainly characterized by inflammation of the lining of your joints. It can lead to long-term joint damage, resulting in chronic pain, loss of function and disability. Because it can affect other organs in your body, early diagnosis and treatment is critical if you want to continue living a productive lifestyle.

Fibromyalgia Syndrome
Fibromyalgia

(FMS) is a widespread musculoskeletal pain and fatigue disorder for which the cause is still unknown. Fibromyalgia means pain in the muscles, ligaments, and tendons - the soft fibrous tissues in the body. Most patients with FMS say that they ache all over. Their muscles may feel like they have been pulled or overworked. Sometimes the muscles twitch and at other times they burn.

Spinal Stenosis Injuries
Spinal Stenosis

The spinal canal contains and protects the spinal cord and nerve roots. Injuries to the spinal canal may cause a pinching of the spinal cord and nerves, resulting in pain in the lower back as well as in the legs.

Temperomandibular Joint Syndrome
Temperomandibular Joint Syndrome

TMJ is more commonly referred to as jaw popping. The condition refers to a number of muscle, joint, and nerve symptoms that are caused by an irritation of the tempero-mandibular joint. If your jaw is not properly positioned, simple activities such as speaking, chewing, swallowing, or yawning can strain your jaw.

Nerve Impingement Syndrome
Nerve Impingement Syndrome

These could include carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatica.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome:

This condition can cause pain, tingling, numbness, and weakness in your fingers and thumbs. CTS results from pressure on the median nerve in your wrists, and can occur due to a wrist or forearm fracture, arthritis-related diseases or because of work activities that require repetitive wrist or finger motion.
