Dr. Patrick Maddalena, HKin, Chiropractor

Dr. Patrick Maddalena is the lead chiropractor at Accelerated Health & Wellness Centre. Dr. Maddalena has experience treating a wide variety of patients, young athletes, professional athletes, motor vehicle accident patients and elderly patients. While earning his Undergraduate Degree from Brock University, Dr. Maddalena studied Kinesiology with a focus on foot biomechanics and gait analysis. With further post graduate training Dr. Maddalena can also create custom orthotics for patients to assist with many foot, ankle, knee and low back complaints. Dr. Maddalena also applies low intensity laser therapy, diversified techniques, activator techniques, drop table techniques and flexion distraction manipulation. Dr. Maddalena treats all chiropractic conditions including lumbar disc herniations, low back pain, sciatica, cervical spine disc herniations, neck pain, headache and more.

Courtney Franks, Office Administrator and Kinesiologist

Courtney is currently working towards a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy at D’Youville College. She graduated with her Honours Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology from Brock University in 2008. Courtney is a Registered Kinesiologist and she is also certified in Low Intensity Laser Therapy. She has gained a variety of experience in the health care field through outpatient clinics in Waterloo, Peterborough and St.Catharines. Her genuine interest in the health and well-being of her patients makes her an exceptionally effective team member. Courtney has been a part of our practice since 2008 and looks forward to bringing new knowledge and ideas to the clinic.

Jana Stewart, Certified Laser Therapist and Counsellor

Jana Stewart, M.A. is both a Meditech Canada certified laser technician and a counseling psychotherapist, with a nursing and exercise science background. Receiving professional degrees both at Concordia University in Montreal and Lesley College Graduate School in Cambridge Massachusetts in the counselling psychology field, she spent several years working in the Boston area as a Behaviour Health Specialist with special needs children and Hospice patients as a certified Bereavement Counsellor, and helping transform many behavioural habit-control issues in young people and adults as a Stress-Management Counsellor. She is passionate about the uplifting benefits that clients report after utilizing Low Level Laser Therapy. Jana is now residing in the Niagara area and is delighted to be available for assisting many of our clients in turning from smokers into non-smokers.

Christopher Georgiev, Kinesiology and Human Kinetics

Chris is currently attending Brock University studying Kinesiology and Human Kinetics. With a strong athletic background, Chris is dedicated to helping his patients develop and sustain a healthy and active lifestyle. As a volunteer basketball coach Chris has acquired great interpersonal, team building and leadership skills along with other life skills that are highly valued in the clinical setting. Dedication, devotion and a passion for the health and wellness of his patients, Chris will often exceed expectations to make your visit comfortable and professional while focusing on the overall improvement of your quality of life. Chris will continue to improve his abilities while moving forward toward his future goal of becoming a Physiotherapist.

CARRIE JESKE, RMT

Carrie has been practicing massage therapy for over five and a half years, since graduating with distinction in 2005 from Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, AB, with a diploma in massage therapy studies. Having worked in various multi-disciplinary settings, in both Alberta and Ontario, Carrie has gained experience in treating a wide variety of conditions, including headaches, whiplash injuries, repetitive strain injuries, postural dysfunctions, and more, while receiving additional training in deep tissue therapy and TMJ Dysfunction. With an appreciation for the expertise that every health professional brings to the table, Carrie has enjoyed experiencing how a collaborative effort can greatly benefit patient and therapist alike. Anytime we are faced with injury or illness, we are reminded how much we take good health for granted, and Carrie feels very fortunate to be able to help improve the health and quality of life of her patients. She believes that life is most rewarding when lived in service of others, and enjoys working with patients from all walks of life. Carrie is excited to be joining the AHWC team, and looks forward to helping you reach your wellness goals!

 

 

Mark Georgiev, BKin, P.T.

Mark Georgiev has been working as a physiotherapist for almost a decade and is now working at Accelerated Health & Wellness Centre. Mark, who grew up in Fonthill and later attended Notre Dame in Welland has come back to treat patients in his local community. After graduating from Notre Dame, Mark went on to play Lacrosse for the University of Western Ontario, where he studied kinesiology and psychology. He also was a member of the championship Brock men’s lacrosse team in 1999. Mark graduated from D’Youville College in 2003 with his Master’s in Physical Therapy, and has been practicing in the USA and Canada since. After graduation, Mark worked in Tucson, Arizona and later moved back to his roots in 2005. Mark brings a great deal of manual orthopedic and vestibular skills to the St. Catharines clinic. Mark is a vestibular rehabilitation therapist. He assesses and treats a large volume of dizzy, balance and vertigo issues... Mark is trained in active release techniques, athletic taping, acupuncture, custom orthotics/bracing and work place rehabilitation. Mark treats sports injuries, whiplash disorders, fractures, arthritis, and any spine or joint related pain. Mark is really excited to be able to help everyone in the local community and prides himself in making an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan based on his patients needs. Marks philosophy is that hands on treatment, coupled with a specific exercise based program is the most effective approach when dealing with injuries and makes sure everyone is treated in a professional, friendly environment with goal driven results.
